The Story:
Compassion International is an organization dedicated to helping children in Africa escape spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty by meeting their educational, medical and emotional needs. Stemming from the Malaria Intervention, Compassion partnered with Youth Specialties on a project called the BITE BACK Campaign. Launched in 2008, the project was solely dedicated combating Malaria by providing insecticide-treated bed nets (at merely $10 each) to children enrolled in Compassion’s programs.
Compassion partnered with Matchstic to create a branding concept and design each touch point for the campaign. Once the concept was selected, Matchstic developed the logo, collateral and t-shirts to benefit the initiative.
The Goal:
Create a movement by empowering student with an iconic statement that visually communicated a vital message: BITE BACK.
The Strategy: Design a logo along with t-shirts and other collateral to get the BITE BACK message across at events, through the Compassion catalog and online.
The Result:
To date, the BITE BACK campaign produced commitments to purchase 23,000 nets equating to $230,000! In addition, the t-shirts featured online and in their catalog sold out in 2 days flat.
